Motion Wallpaper System
Cypro
Motion Systems · 3D Motion · Brand Experience
A branded motion wallpaper that enhances the workspace without distraction acting as a subtle, atmospheric extension of the Cypro identity.
Project Overview
Cypro needed a branded desktop experience for their internal team something more dynamic than a static wallpaper, but still subtle enough for daily professional use.
The final delivery included:
- A looping motion wallpaper (video-based, compatible with external apps)
- A static fallback version
- A visual system aligned with Cypro’s digital brand identity
The goal was to create a calm, continuous motion experience that enhances the workspace without becoming distracting.
The Problem
The request for a “dynamic wallpaper” was not clearly defined, so I had to turn it into a workable solution.
Key constraints:
- macOS has limited support for motion wallpapers
- Fixed resolution (2560 × 1664)
- Performance limits for daily laptop use
- Need for subtle, non-distracting motion
The visual direction also changed during feedback, requiring multiple iterations.
The Solution
I chose a video-based approach to have full control over motion and looping. I first tested ideas in DaVinci Resolve, but it quickly became clear it was too limited for precise motion control, so I moved the work into Blender and built a 3D particle system instead.
The final concept is based on dust particles forming the logo, holding briefly, and then dispersing in a seamless loop.
This setup allowed precise control over movement, timing, easing, loop continuity, and the overall density and scale of the particles. Final refinements focused on making the loop smoother, reducing visual noise at the start and end of the animation, improving particle definition, and adjusting speed based on real testing.
The result is a subtle, stable, and brand-aligned motion system designed for everyday use across the Cypro team.
